Moloch

This bleak computer-generated short with a deliberately distorted soundtrack is big on atmosphere but low on specifics.

Metal clangs against metal and is beautifully rendered. The computer generated backdrop has proper weight and, importantly, looks ‘real’, which is difficult to achieve using a computer palate.

The look, in fact, reminded me a lot of excellently animated short Prey Alone – although, sadly, Moloch lacks the cohesive narrative needed to carry it into the realms of greatness. The lack of story detracts from the technical excellence, which is a pity.
